Ingrid es licenciada en Estudios Ambientales con especialización en Ecología, Evolución y Biología Marina. Ingrid tiene experiencia en el análisis de datos, el seguimiento medioambiental y la conservación de la biodiversidad. Además, Ingrid ha trabajado como asistente de investigación en un proyecto de investigación a largo plazo centrado en el estudio del impacto del cambio climático en los ecosistemas marinos. En Gauss, Ingrid apoya una amplia gama de proyectos relacionados con la evaluación de políticas, el procesamiento de datos, la mitigación y la adaptación al cambio climático, y la capacitación tecnica.  Ingrid tiene experiencia en la elaboración de estrategias  de largo plazo para el desarrollo bajo en emisiones. Además, Ingrid trabaja en varios proyectos relacionados con la adaptación, centrándose en el desarrollo y la mejora de los procedimientos de Monitoreo y Evaluación (M&E) para el seguimiento de los esfuerzos de adaptación y se ha especializado en el sector AFOLU junto con el de Recursos Hídricos.

Javier Chornet García

Javier es doctor en física teórica y tiene un máster en matemáticas, especializado en ecuaciones diferenciales. Actualmente trabaja como Consultor Ambiental en Gauss, Javier tiene una sólida experiencia trabajando con datos, matemáticas y proyectos de investigación y está especializado en modelos climáticos. Antes de trabajar en Gauss, Javier estuvo involucrado en varios proyectos de investigación, gestionando big data y haciendo física de sistemas complejos. Además, Javier ha realizado varios cursos de Data Science y Machine Learning. Javier está muy familiarizado con el campo de la modelización y previsión del clima, el transporte y los impactos de las políticas de mitigación.

Juan L. Martín Ortega

Théo Rouhette

Théo es licenciado en Biodiversidad y Conservación y tiene un máster en Servicios Ecosistémicos. Théo tiene experiencia en el análisis de datos y de sistemas de información geográfica (SIG) para apoyar las evaluaciones políticas. En el pasado, Théo ha sido coordinador científico y editor del comité científico Ecobiose, que elaboró un informe de evaluación sobre el papel de la biodiversidad en los socio-ecosistemas regionales de Francia. En Gauss, Théo apoya una amplia gama de proyectos relacionados con el procesamiento de datos, la evaluación de políticas y el desarrollo de capacidades. Theo tiene experiencia en el desarrollo de inventarios de emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero (GEI) con una especialización en el sector AFOLU. Sander Akkermans

Sander Akkermans es licenciado en Medio Ambiente y Gestión de Recursos e investigador y consultor medioambiental en temas de cambio climático y sostenibilidad. Sander tiene una sólida experiencia en la elaboración de inventarios de emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero (GEI) en el marco de la Convención Marco de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Cambio Climático (CMNUCC) y es miembro de la lista de expertos de la CMNUCC. Además, tiene varios años de experiencia en el análisis y desarrollo de políticas sobre el cambio climático y está especializado en el campo de la financiación del clima. Por último, Sander tiene experiencia en Responsabilidad Social Corporativa (RSC), elaborando inventarios de emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero a nivel empresarial y ha participado en la creación de una iniciativa de compensación de carbono para una organización gubernamental sin ánimo de lucro, lo que le ha otorgado experiencia en un amplio campo de retos sociales y medioambientales.

Leon Bengsch

Léon es licenciado en Filosofía, Política y Economía con especialización en elaboración de políticas y tiene un máster en Administración Pública y Gobernanza. Léon tiene experiencia en el sector de las energías renovables, trabajando en la viabilidad económica de proyectos de hidrógeno e investigando los ecosistemas energéticos. En Gauss, Léon trabaja como consultor medioambiental centrándose en los retos institucionales y tiene experiencia en el análisis de políticas sobre el cambio climático y en el diseño institucional de sistemas nacionales de seguimiento, notificación y verificación (MRV) para el seguimiento de los avances en los compromisos sobre el cambio climático bajo la Convención Marco de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Cambio Climático (CMNUCC). Además, Léon apoya proyectos de desarrollo de estrategias de mitigación de emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero, así como de financiación del clima.

María José (Pepa) López

Licenciado en química y máster en ingeniería y gestión medioambiental.

Más de 25 años de experiencia en investigación y consultoría sobre cuestiones de sostenibilidad. Experiencia en más de 60 países a través de misiones que abarcan evaluaciones, seguimiento, formación y revisiones, creación de capacidades, apoyo técnico y asesoramiento experto en políticas y medidas sobre cambio climático y energía, estadísticas energéticas, emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero, flujos de materiales, economía ambiental, generación y gestión de residuos y eficiencia de recursos.

Vicepresidente de la Comisión Europea y evaluador experto de propuestas de investigación sobre medio ambiente y energía.

Ingrid Aguirre

Ingrid holds a BSc in Environmental Studies with an emphasis in Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Biology. Ingrid has experience in data analysis, environmental monitoring, and biodiversity conservation. In addition, Ingrid has worked as a research assistant for a long-term research project focused on studying the impact of climate change on marine ecosystems. At Gauss, Ingrid supports a wide range of projects related to policy assessments, data processing, mitigation and adaptation to climate change, and capacity building.  Ingrid has experience in the elaboration of long-term low-emission development strategies (LTS). In addition, Ingrid works in several projects related to adaptation, focusing on the development and improvement of M&E procedures to track adaptation efforts and has specialized in the AFOLU sector along with Water Resources.

Javier Chornet García

Researcher || Consultant

Javier holds a PhD in theoretical physics and a master’s degree in mathematics, specialized in differential equations. Currently working as an Environmental Consultant at Gauss, Javier has solid experience working with data, mathematics, and research projects and is specialized in climate models. Before working in Gauss, Javier was involved in several research projects, managing big data and making physics of complex systems. Furthermore, Javier has taken several courses of Data Science and Machine Learning. Javier is very familiar with the field of modeling and forecasting climate, transport, and mitigation policy impacts.

María José (Pepa) López

Chemistry degree and Master in environmental engineering and management.

Over 25 years’ experience in research and consultancy on sustainability issues. In-country experience in over 60 countries through missions covering assessments, monitoring, training and reviews, capacity building, technical support and expert advice in climate change and energy policies and measures, energy statistics, greenhouse gas emissions, material flows, environmental economics, waste generation and management and resources efficiency.

Juan L. Martín Ortega

Sander Akkermans

Sander Akkermans holds a MSc in Environment and Resource Management and is a researcher and environmental consultant on climate change and sustainability issues. Sander has a solid experience in the development of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission inventories under the United Nations Framework Convention of Climate Change (UNFCCC) and is a member of the UNFCCC Roster of Experts. In addition, he has multiple years of experience in climate change policy analysis and development and is specialised in the field of climate finance. Finally, Sander has experience in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), producing greenhouse gas emission inventories at company level and has been involved in setting up a carbon offsetting initiative for a non-profit governmental organisation, which has granted him experience in a broad field of social and environmental challenges.

Théo Rouhette

Théo holds a BSc in Biodiversity and Conservation and an MSc in Ecosystem Services. Theo has experience in data analysis and geographic information systems (GIS) analysis to support policy assessments. In the past, Théo has been the scientific coordinator and editor of the Ecobiose scientific committee which produced an assessment report on the role of biodiversity in regional socio-ecosystems of France. At Gauss, Théo supports a wide range of projects related to data processing, policy assessments, and capacity building. Theo has experience in the development of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission inventories with a specialization on the AFOLU sector. In addition, Theo is involved in multiple projects related to adaptation to climate change, with a focus on the development of Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) framework.

Leon Bengsch

Researcher || Consultant

Léon holds a BSc in Philosophy, Politics and Economics with a focus on policymaking and a MSc in Public Administration and Governance. Léon has experience in the renewable energy industry working on economic viability of hydrogen projects and researching energy ecosystems. At Gauss, Léon works as an environmental consultant with a focus on institutional challenges and has experience in climate change policy analysis and in the institutional design of national Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) systems tracking progress on climate change commitments under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Furthermore, Léon supports projects for developing mitigation strategies for GHG emissions as well as in climate finance.
