The primary focus of your role will be to contribute to project delivery, and business development regarding all aspects of climate change planning processes at international level. The role is a senior-level position with responsibility for:

  • Technical leadership of team members;
  • Leading, managing and contributing to complex proposals and projects on climate change;
  • Working effectively as a team member on a range of projects and proposals and supporting the development of more junior staff;
  • Working with national governments, the EU and other international organisations around the world;
  • In all aspects of this role, you will work with a highly-experienced, cross-disciplinary team of consultants. You will have the opportunity to make an impact and shape projects, learning from colleagues and contributing your skills and experience.

Key competencies and experience:

  • A higher degree in a relevant field of sciences or engineering, or equivalent academic experience;
  • Experience of leading bids, projects and teams;
  • A minimum of seven years’ international climate change-related experience;
  • Experience of working in different cultural environments;
  • The capability to facilitate virtual and face-to-face stakeholder consultations, workshops, and capacity-building events;
  • Previous experience of operating in a consultancy environment;
  • Knowledge of international climate change policy (e.g., UNFCCC);
  • Strong literacy in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Skills:

  • Proficient in two languages (English, French, Spanish);
  • Proactive, able to work independently and demonstrate initiative;
  • A team player, able to adopt leadership and expert support roles dependent on the needs, as part of a cross-disciplinary team;

  • Willingness to travel overseas occasionally on short-term (e.g. 1-2 week) assignments up to circa 4-6 times per year;
